Study at diploma level (Level 5 on the Australian Qualifications Framework) or above can contribute to professional development (PD) requirements.
You apply for further coursework study to be recognised as PD by recording the units you complete within your maintenance period. You can create entries for completed units as you go, or one entry for the whole qualification once completed. Follow the instructions below.
You can apply to have postgraduate research recognised as PD by completing this application form (PDF).
Expand the "Maintenance of Accreditation" link in the left menu, click on “Further Study as PD”
On the “Manage Further Tertiary Study PD Hours” page click the "Apply for further tertiary study PD hours" button and complete the following fields:
Course Type – select Undergraduate or Postgraduate
Institution
Course Name
Number of units completed. A section titled Unit Details will appear once you have chosen the number of units
Under each “Unit Details” section enter the unit name, and start and end date for each unit
Under “Relevance of Study”, choose the Standard Descriptor/s that apply to the units (choose from Proficient, Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher)
Write 300–1800 characters in the comment box explaining how the course addressed the Standard Descriptor/s (a minimum of 300 characters is required)
Upload at least one academic transcript in the “Upload Transcripts” section. Click the "Browse" button and select a file from your device. Once you have selected the file, click "Upload File"
Save a draft at any time by clicking the "Save Draft" button
When finished, read the Declarations, check both boxes and then click the “Submit” button. You will not be able to edit the application once you have submitted it.
